AT BLOOMINGTON, COMPETES AT BROWNSTOWN...
May 5, 2008
--- Following another rain-out at the Bloomington (IN)
Speedway on Friday night, May 2, Jeff Bland, Jr. and his
#21s team invaded the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown,
Indiana on Saturday evening for a USAC event. Unfortunately
for the Bloomington, Indiana hotshoe, lady luck was not
on Jeff's side on Saturday at Brownstown and he failed
to make the starting grid for the A-Main due to a rash
of engine woes. After timing in eighteenth quickest in
qualifying, Jeff ran eighth in his heat race and was later
relegated to a nineteenth place performance in the B-Main
due to the motor troubles. You can view complete results

in his competitive heat race. After starting ninth on
the grid for the A-Main, Jeff blasted his way up to the

spin with only a handful of laps remaining. The young

sixteenth place finish in the inaugural 'Spring Clash.'
On Saturday, the action
turned to the Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon, Indiana.
After winning his heat race, Jeff led the first fifteen
laps of the A-Main before winding up a strong runner-up
to winner Brady Short. The tripleheader weekend then concluded
on Sunday, April 27 at the Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo,
Indiana. Jeff set fast time in qualifying and won his
heat race prior to rolling off from the outside of the
third row for the main event. He fell back to as far as
twelfth in the running order before charging back to earn
a sixth place performance, despite losing an engine while
crossing the checkers. You can view full results from

on lap two and was involved in a great battle for the
